Before Her Eyes was both impressive and horrifying.

In a town who hasn't forgiven for the brutal murder 20 years ago, Naomi Hannah has given up on everything and finds herself on the edge of a cliff. Only, she can't see down it - not because it's too high up, but because she's been blind ever since she can remember. When her guide dog manages to get her away from the cliff's edge, Naomi soon accidentally stumbles onto the scene of the murder where a game of cat and mouse begins...

I have never read a novel from Jack Jordan before and picked this up on a whim. However, I was pleasantly surprised. As each chapter ended, I was eager to read on and read large portions of the book in single sittings. It was that good!

Offering a unique perspective of having a blind victim, who is being taunted and toyed with by a dangerous killer, kept me on edge more than the average thriller could. As someone, who really likes to visualize what's going on in a story, I worried that by having a blind character a lot of this would be based around scents and smells, however, Jack Jordan delivered such descriptive passages that not only highlighted how Naomi was experiencing everything but also how someone who was able to see would experience the horrors.

As I began to reach the end of the book, I originally toyed with a four-star review. Everything seemed to be wrapping up and we were just going to get the 'goodbye' chapter that some authors throw in for good measure. However, Jack delivered yet another twist worth the extra star.

I'll be keeping an eye out for Jack Jordan in the future and encourage any thriller lover to give Behind Her Eyes a chance.
