Naomia Hannah is blind and has been so all her life. She has reached a stage in life where she feels she can’t carry on and frequently takes walks with her guide dog with the intention of ending it all by throwing herself from the cliffs, but never quite manages to go through with it.

Her life isn’t happy, she has parted from her husband and struggles daily with coping with her blindness, but it is all to get a lot worse when she is walking back from yet another failed suicide attempt and stumbles across a body of a woman.

She senses that there is someone else there, watching her and she seems to be the only witness to what becomes a murder investigation.

This is a fast paced read and really involves the reader in the sense of helplessness Naomi feels although I couldn’t quite come to terms with exactly how much she was able to do without the aid of sight.

More bodies follow and Naomi finds herself going from being a witness to being prime suspect. Although the reader knows she has nothing to do with murders, the police are convinced she knows who did it and is probably helping them.

This kept me guessing - wrongly - throughout the book and I was surprised when I found out at the very end of the book, who was responsible.
