This was a Christmas gift back in 2018 and it took me a while to pick it up. I was excited to read it but I think the tiny text seemed a bit daunting.
•
Having a blind woman as the protagonist was fascinating. Seeing how Naomi dealt with this disability was astounding, especially with everything that happens to her during the book. I felt a connection with her immediately and wanted to protect her. The police officers, I did not like.
•
I did find the story a little far fetched. It also seemed that the author was trying to make life as difficult as possible for Naomi by putting her in situations that seemed very unrealistic. I am not blind so I cannot comment on how difficult living with this impairment may be, but I do have extremely poor eye sight. If I went through the same experiences as Naomi without any help (glasses or contact lenses) I feel I would struggle to survive.

I would recommend this book, as it is quite different to others I have read in this genre, but it doesn’t seem very true to life. Overall, this was a good read.

*SPOILER*
There is a scene involving a dog who gets severely injured and this was quite distressing so I didn’t enjoy this part at all.
