This is a modern-day psychological thriller that had me hooked from the first look.
The protagonist, Naomi is blind and despite a difficult start in life has settled into the regular life in her home town; though she remains haunted by her lack of control over her life. These vulnerabilities accentuate the horror of the plot. I was instantly drawn into her dark, claustrophobic world. Naomi discovers a body in her town and this sets of a series of events that are interlinked with the town’s history.
The writer bought out interesting human relationships throughout the book, the towns relationship with its past, the relationships between Naomi and her mother and sister, the relationships between the investigating detectives. I couldn’t put it down.
