This book follows Naomi as she seeks to work out who was the perpetrator in an attack she witnessed, although the only difficulty being that Naomi is blind, and didn’t see a thing.

At first I was really intrigued as to how Naomi’s blindness would impact her ability to recollect events of the attack. I found her to be quite a conflicting person, in that at times she would appear strong despite her disability, and at other times she would be portrayed as to vulnerable to protect herself.

At these times on vulnerability there was a real dependence that Naomi had on both Dane and Max, which then implicated them into the events of the story. However these relationships were also conflicted by other family and romantic relationships within her life.

The attacks were described quite gruesomely throughout the book which kept my interest and maintained the air of mystery. I liked how throughout the book there were suspicions that the perpetrator could be a complete stranger, or an individual more well known to Naomi.

I found Marcus’ role portrayed to be in such a way that at times I forgot he was the detective, and instead viewed him as a sole individual in his own right. Equally, the book was not complicated by too many characters so the revelations and surprises were quite quickly put together.

The chapters were short, which made it easy to read at a fast pace, and my attention didn’t drop at all! Could easily have read in one sitting if I had the opportunity!

I really enjoyed this read as Naomi’s disability brought a new aspect to the book that made this one stand out from the other crime/thrillers that I’ve read. Initially I felt four stars, but then I changed my mind to a five star review. Simply because the only influencing factor on my experience of reading this book, was the time availability I had to sit down and read it!
