First of all it wasn't what I was expecting. I expected it to be an action induced
sci-fi novel with aliens (or alien-like creatures) and what I got was very intelligent journey into human subconscious.
Ben Ronson, young British police officer, arrives to Submundo Delta with a task to investigate and stop killings of Duendes - mysterious, vaguely humanoid creatures. But soon enough Ben starts to feel that Duendes and Delta itself has strange impact on him. Easy from a first glance task turns into a deep internal conflict.
I loved this book. From very rich and vibrant descriptions of Submundo Delta and its citizens to very well developed characters. And I still have so many unanswered questions. But I guess I'll need to use my own imagination.
Now excuse me, I am going to make myself cup of tea and contemplate human nature. And you go and read this book if you still didn't.
