My first impression of this book, when I read the description, was that I wasn't really interested in reading it - the subject matter didn't appeal to me at all. However, after reading the first impression, I would be willing to read on.....even though the book description still doesn't grab my interest.
I found the first impression easy enough to read, and although it jumps straight into the story without any scene setting (I'm guessing we will be told how Pippa died at some point), it doesn't feel like any details are lacking.
I like how we get the story told from different characters viewpoints, and how the chapters are split up between them.
I like the cover - it is simple, yet striking - although having only read the first impression, I'm not sure whether the cover fits the story. The cover seems a lot darker that the blurb suggests.
