The cover with its imagery of medical tools and wording about the dead being unable to speak peaked my interest as it seems the sort of book I would enjoy. Then I read the synopsis and knew that I would enjoy it and 4 chapters in I was gripped.
We get to know a little about Cassie in the first chapter and about her role and her abilitys. A few other key characters such as her colleagues and grandma are introduced and we learn some of their history too but Chapter 3 was the real eye opener where we learnt more about Cassie in depth and detail and I took a real liking to her.
The style of writing was easy to read and follow, giving just enough detail for you to create your own imagery, all whilst making me want to read on. By the end of the First Read of Chapter 4 I was hooked and didn't want to stop reading. I want to know who the lady is, how she knows her and just what happened.
