I gave this book to my teenage daughter to take on holiday. From the first glance I had it looked like a light, fun read which would appeal to a younger teenager.

It is the story of teenagers Paige and Holly who go to the seaside resort of Skegton-on-Sea for a literary festival. As could be easily predicted things don't always go swimmingly at the festival and it is not as glamorous as it originally seemed. Hilarious accidents ensue and we learn about how important friendships are.

My daughter actually really enjoyed this book. The characters were very real to her, although some references went over her head (the character of Lady Minnie Rockwell for instance was so obviously based on Barbara Cartland that it was hilarious). Although this was the second novel in this series, it didn't hamper her enjoyment of the book. Bring on the next instalment!!!
