While I don't think this is the book for me, I did enjoy the first few chapters. I am not that interested in veterinary, or the setting of this book, although I do always like to read about cultures from an outsider's perspective. It provides such an interesting insight, and shows how a person's culture or past experiences influence the way they see things.
I think this will make an excellent read for anyone whose interests lie in either this setting (1970s London), or the field of veterinary. Or perhaps for those who just enjoy biographies.
