An interesting look at the life of a vet
This is a really interesting book that gives a good flavour of what it was like to be a vet in the 70's. For me personally, I did find that the focus sometimes shifted a little more onto the author and his day to day life rather than the nitty gritty of the actual animal care itself than I would have liked - but I suppose this is only natural given that the book is written as an overall memoir rather than a pure account of vetinary care!
I have since passed the book onto my mother, who has connected with and enjoyed it on an even deeper level than I was able to, as she not only remembers that time but many of the different places and locales that are mentioned in this book.
Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this a go if you think it might interest you. The story flows easily, and I never found myself bored as I was able to read it in a few hours. A very nice book.
