Looks to be a good nostalgic read at a time when War is uppermost in our minds.

This book looks to be an important insight into family Christmases in the Second World War years.
People had so little and their lives were a strain, so I expect mothers tried their hardest to make Christmas Day a day of celebration for all.
I look forward to reading about making a lot out of a little, the Christmas meal, especially the spam meal, which had to be hurriedly concocted when the dog grabbed the roast.
We read a lot about the men away fighting so it is a change to read about the home front.
This book looks as if it would be a fun read about family life at a time when people had so little , but were cheerful and resourceful nevertheless.
I’d like a copy to read at Christmas and be extra grateful that we live in different times!
