This was a strange book written in narrative verse. This for me was my first novel written in verse, and I struggled to get into it initially because of this, I found it stilted in places, and not giving me the detail I wanted.
I also found it difficult to tell between the two girls at the start, although maybe this was because I read it in an e-book format rather than a paper copy.
Having said all of that I persevered, and I'm glad I did as the stories of two girls who initially did not know of each others existance, but who shared a father was both emotional and thought provoking.
I really enjoyed the authors previous book With the fire on high, and loved the story in this one...but wish it had been written in traditional prose.
