My interest was confirmed within the first few lines. Where is the story going, with several possibilities: who are the main characters and what are their backgrounds? In the opening pages we learn something about them, but no doubt there will be more to learn about them, not necessarily good.
The young lawyer whose phone is stolen(?) seems to be gay which could potentially mean some kind of blackmail angle. Is he innocent or is he complicit in the phone's theft?
A very intriguing start and, frankly, I was hooked from the first page. I cannot wait to read on and discover the plot as it will no doubt develop!
