My first book by this writer but I would recommend it. I don't think that we know the characters in any great depth though this could be deliberate? I still wonder about the connection between the law case and what happens though. In view of the writer's "other job" I believe he knows what he's about!! Just wondered, too, about Valencia and her ability to be able to order a hit of her own, which she's never done before??
The Colonel is A very shadowy figure and may be worth following up on in the future. It is one of themselves which does grip you from the start with explanations of character's actions becoming clearer inretrospect. It is a good read though and hopefully there will be more to come?
