This book is hilariously funny but also very real.
Nell had everything she ever dreamed of, until she didn't. Forced to face reality and return home, she realises that her life isn't going the way she expected it and has to make some difficult choices. Faced with a new life at forty, Nell is petrified, but is pushed to try new things by her friends who all seem to have their lives together.
Everyone has their ideal life planned out, but when this doesn't go to plan, you can feel lost and alone, comparing your own life to friends. This book does an amazing job of befriending the reader, letting us know that it will all work out in the end. The book sends out a strong message that we shouldn't compare what we have achieved with others, and not everything is set out in stone.
