Confessions on the 7:45 follows Martha and Selena, two very different women with very different lifestyles and very different secrets. When Selena meets Martha, a total stranger on the train, she feels the urge to share her biggest secret: that her husband is having an affair with their nanny. She only realises her mistake when, the very next day, the nanny completely disappears.

As the story unfolds, we find out more about Martha, Selena, and a whole cast of other characters, their secrets becoming more and more dangerous as the story goes on.

This book is told from multiple perspectives and, for a while, I was confused as to what I was reading and why. There were a lot of scenes that I read without quite understanding how it tied together with the rest of the plot, but it was so satisfying when everything started making sense. The story was fast-paced, and Martha and Selena both had unique and interesting stories to tell. It didn't take long to get through and it was a definite page-turner the whole way through.

This is also one of those stories that has plot twists on plot twists. Just when you think you're starting to see the connections, you're hit with another one. You can trust nobody but find yourself fascinated by everybody, and I loved watching as everything unravelled and tied itself back up. Parts were a little unbelievable and some connections seemed slightly forced, but if you put that aside, it’s a gripping, fast-paced and entertaining thriller.
