I liked the style of this book. There is a key character that we get to know quickly, but we also have the voices and perspectives of other characters which adds another dimension. I found myself enjoying a book of this genre more than I expected. It kept my interest without being gory or over-analytical. The pace is good, and as it's not too detailed, I found myself reading the first half quite quickly. You go through a range of emotions as you would expect, as the story unfolds.

The characters are all believable and varied. I don't like to give too much away as it totally spoils it for the next reader, but if you like a plot that picks up the everyday in life and spins it, you will enjoy this book. As ever when it involves paid 'help' in the home, family dynamics shift. I haven't read anything else by this author but will definitely look out for others.
