I have read many of Wilbur Smith's early novels but none in the past twenty years so I was intrigued when I saw this one on offer. Although it holds some appeal because I know that the author is a good story-teller, I am put off by two things. Firstly, it is clear that this book is part of a series and that so often makes for a frustrating reading experience. Secondly, noticing that the book is co-authored has dissuaded me from wanting to read more!
