Gabriel is introduced to us as an eleven year old, hiding from his parents argument upstairs, he locks his younger brother in their room to protect him and then ventures down to the cellar. What he discovers there awakens a darkness within and propels him back to save his mother from the monster his father rally is. We are then projected twenty nine years on, in another cellar, with more violent photographs and this time Gabriel is having to be the rescuer of his girlfriend. Once again, we are upsurged into another place in time with Gabriel, painting the picture of his life as a security specialist, well versed in combat and only recently removing himself from a very recluse existence, to one with a girlfriend. He is keeping her secret from his boss, which build in intrigue and it is evident Gabriel still has demons from his past. This is a fantastic psychological thriller, extremely well paced and the time breaks keep it enticingly interesting. Guaranteed to exceed expectations
