So I picked up this book on a whim, not entirely sure if I would enjoy it. As its based in Italy and France, revolving around art, there are alot of terms that are difficult to understand. There's a lot of information swamping with artists, information about paintings and other various topics- but after a while they become second nature. I did find my self having to re-read certain things that I just couldn't quite grasp due to the setting and the language. But the actual storyline itself was very enjoyable, it had a hint of secrecy the entire way through- with hints about murders, missing persons and a secret life. You find yourself reading to find out about her past as much as you do the current investigations. It can be a bit of a slow burner but it is still interesting enough to keep you going. Honestly though I was really disappointed in the ending, it felt as though I'd read the book and the ending was just rushed. After so much detail throughout the entire story, I expected the ending to be longer with more suspense- but the events unravelled quickly and it did let me down.
