This is the second book in the trilogy about the promiscuous art expert , Judith Rashleigh. Like the first book Maestra, it is very well written with wonderful descriptions of people and places - Venice, Paris, Belgrade and St Moritz in this story.
Judith is being pursued by Russian oligarchs and mafia in Domina as they believe she has a valuable Caravaggio drawing in her possession. As in Maestra, she travels through this confusing and incredible story on private jets, wearing designer clothes and staying in luxury accomodation. She has erotic, debauched sex with most of the men she meets which is described in graphic detail lasting several pages before she murders them.
There is a beautifully written chapter about her childhood with her alcoholic mother and baby sister towards the end of the book but it does little to make Judith a sympathetic character or explain her perverted lifestyle choices.
I will not be investing my time or money on the third book in the trilogy when it is published.
