I only read the first impression of this book but it was dark, sharp, sexy and intriguing. I didn't know that this book was part of a series, since I have only read a few chapters I can't speak for the entire book however I felt like I was given enough information to enjoyably read the book without feeling confused. So although I wasn't confused, the character of Elisabeth Teerlinc is the definition of mystery and femme fatale. I want to know more about her! We are told about her backstory which makes it impossible to feel negative towards her character, we sympathise with her and I almost felt inspired by her wanting to create a better life for herself - and succeeding. When I started reading the book, I didn't expect to read anything else apart from a woman having a one night stand but there were small hints given, eluding that everything wasn't exactly how it seemed and the biggest twist was revealed once Elisabeth murdered him. The few chapters I read have convinced me to go out and not only purchase Domina but also the first book in the series, I believe it's called Maestra? Regardless, I am looking forward to this book, I'm all about strong female protagonists!
