Absolutely loved this book.
Just like its prequel, Maestra, I simply could not put it down. This book has it all, intelligence, art, romance, suspense, murder, sex, mafia etc. Not only was I utterly engulfed by the complex thrilling storyline, I also feel as though I could get a 1st in an Art History degree if I were to sit it tomorrow. L.S Hilton is a fabulous author, I thought this might be nothing more than a beach book but I was so, so wrong! Hilton is able to capture the atmosphere of the scenes with such depth by her beautiful, abstract vocabulary, I actually felt like I was sat in that Venice square, watching Judith drinking that smooth cappuccino, cigarette in hand. I'd find myself craving the characters strange life.
You will not regret this book, it isn't one of those books that takes 100 pages to actually get going. It is engaging from page 1. Perhaps too engaging, maybe don't read it if you have an exam coming up.
