I have followed the series from Tribune and have been eagerly awaiting the last volume. This was not a disappointment. A brilliant, exciting story filled with obvious research and a deep interest in the character of Vespasian and his family and friends. The fate of a very old friend is well portrayed and affecting.
Even though the final outcome was obvious (the title of the book - Emperor of Rome - sort of gives it away) but the twists and turns are very well executed.
The writing is fluid and easy to read, the plot well developed and moves along at great pace.
I would highly recommend starting from Tribune and working your way through the whole series to understand the depth of Fabbri's research.
Can't wait for 'The Alexander Legacies'.
