A good book
I enjoyed this quality book by one of my favourite authors Karin Slaughter. When I started reading, I was quite excited knowing that I was reading a really good story by a really good author and I was not wrong.
The book is a story of two sisters names Leigh and Callie, who are experiencing trauma from their childhood. Leigh is a successful lawyer at a leading Chicago law firm who has a teenage daughter named Maddie and a cordial relationship with her ex-husband. On the contrary, Callie has completely the opposite life as following an injury that occurred during the period of time she would cheerlead as a teenager, she grew a serious drug addiction and now lives a somewhat disorganized life.
Leigh being a lawyer has been asked to take on a new case defending Andrew Tennant who has been sued for rape. It is a huge case that could lead her to a higher position in her career but not long after, she realises that it is no coincidence that out of all the lawyers he could pick, he picked her.
