Harry McCoy is back in this second installment of the series. Its Glasgow 1973 and Harry is back on the job after recuperating and being signed off to come back to work after the events of [Bloody January - Book 1]
Harry and Wattie are called to a gruesome scene of a death of a young Celtic footballer Charlie Jackson who has been brutally murdered and the murderer has left a signature for them to follow up.
Harry's boss Murray is reluctant to throw Harry back in so soon but has no choice in such a task to solve. Harry must follow up with the victim's family and find out exactly who would want to hurt such a talented young lad? Calling on help from his old pal Stevie Cooper is just asking for trouble. Cooper senses theres more than meets the eye with this one. Harry, with all his flaws and there are many, is still quite a good detective. He finds these murders as some sort of personal attack on his city and is being taunted by the killer as he manages to stay one step ahead each time.

Again quite a stellar story from Parks with this one. I keep telling myself I wont enjoy them as they are 'noir thrillers' but I fall for Harry's charm everytime. Looking forward to reading Book 3 soon.
