Fairly pedestrian so far - ticks all the boxes for the genre really. Messed up lead characters, each with a "past" that makes them driven and damaged. Some nefarious activity that is bigger than both of them combined but somehow they will have to overcome. I think I may be becoming jaded to this particular genre.

There is nothing wrong with the writing though and it moves along at a good clip, giving both a sense of the place and the people in a fairly effortless manner. I was disappointed to reach the end of the first impression so there's that going for it.
