I love my historical sagas and have very much enjoyed in the past, novels that are based on the transportation of prisoners to Australia and who then go on to start a new life, surviving the basic elements and forming new relationships. The fact that this book 'Fled' by Meg Keneally is based on the true story of convict Mary Bryant and her attempt to escape the fledging colony by taking to the open seas truly intrigues me and I just know that I will enjoy reading this interesting and inspiring read.
I have read fictionalised accounts of Mary Bryant previously and I'm also knowledgeable of her history so it would be a pleasure to read this authors account of the story. From the first look the writing looks detailed, atmospheric and well thought out. I very much hope I'm successful in the Readers First draw for this book and get the chance to read and review.
