The main character lives a life of poverty and finds herself having to turn to other avenues in order to live. Entering into a life of criminality Jenny Trelawney has many different challenges to face. I love how this story is based upon Mary Bryant, a true story. She was the first convict to be taken to Australia all alone. I love how raw and honest the author has told her tale and has definitely done her justice. Being pregnant and living in poverty is certainly not an easy life but it is admirable about how Jenny learns to copes and adapts to this new world she has been thrown into. A true adventure in which you follow Jenny's will to survive in a very challenging world. Would recommend for all those who are a fan of history.
