This is a powerful novel, the dramatic word images stand out in every line, creaking floorboards, wheezing morphine pump, groaning heating system, weird house hand built and haphazardly added to over the years on top of a small mountain, and characters who all have extreme oddities. A cherub has been attracted to earth and blown in through the girl's bedroom window - in a wild storm of course! I think this book is very good - of its type - not for me or my taste, but well written and strong.
