This book is a perfect book for the YA readers. I love the dark, gothic themes and the imagery throughout the book really allows you to be transported to the magical bavarian forest.
I would say that maybe too dark for a younger reader as it does get quite dark in places so may suit the older end of the YA age range.
Set in mystery and strange house in the mysterious forest. The protagonist Cassie Engel has her life changed when a cherub comes through her bedroom window on a dark and stormy night. Joined by her best friend Raphael the must work out why this celestial being has arrived. We also get to meet the slightly bizarre and kooky members of the Engel family along the way.
The cover is just as stunning in real life and really catches the eye. I would recommend reading this book.
A truly excellent debut from Lucy Hope and hopefully more to come in the future.
