Before I started reading this book, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, and, yes, I know, "don't judge a book on its cover" but sometimes you can't help it! An amazing detail I'm so glad was included were the little illustrations at the beginning of each chapter, it really helps younger children enjoy the book more! I love the writing style, its super descriptive from the get-go and sinks its hook in you, and you can't help but keep reading!
I love how the author manages to manipulate you into liking who you're meant to like, and disliking those you are meant to dislike.
Back to the cover, the synopsis is very convincing, and certainly helped prompt me into get straight into it!

I also love how relatable the main character is, the way she's written and the way she grows makes her just that much more likeable and easier to identify with. The themes of truth, love, hope and friendship really help to hold together this novel.
