Fledgling- firstly, I think the front cover is absolutely stunning, it draws you in to read this book straight away. I was unsure what the book would be about on the cover alone, but guessed it would be a YA fantasy type.
I read this book within a couple of days, it is a fast and easy read. I was absoltely hooked from the moment the cherub blew into Cassie's bedroom! Loved the characters, really rooted for Cassie and Raphael. Wasn't too sure about the mother but she's an important character as the story progresses.
I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did; I tend to avoid fantasy novels, but this reminded me a little bit of books like the golden compass, I think a similar audience would enjoy this type of book.
The ending of the book is a satisfying one, and one in which leaves it open for a sequel. I would love to find out what happens to Raphael, the cherub, and of course Cassie.
