Really enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the first page. Its graffic, great descriptions & a little bit dark.
Set in the Highlands of Scotland the first scene has your nerves rattled as you read of how a young boy Robert disappears.
The investigation takes place by DI Monica (who I think is a tough cookie) & her partner Crawford. But it soon turns into more murders so they soon have a serial killer on the loose who is staging every murder.
The other main character, Michael is the social worker who has being helping a boy called Nichol. However Nichol disappears & Michael takes it upon himself to look for him as he doesn't trust the police. But where is Nichol? Why did he disappear? And how does all of this tie into the death of Robert & the others?
Well worth a read & Brill debut novel.
