As soon as I saw this in the upcoming list I was really looking forward to reading it. In fact I used my hard earned points to get it. Oh silly me.
It’s a shame as, when you read the blurb, it’s everything I enjoy in a good thriller. I was keen to read the first in a new Scottish police thriller series and indeed it started well. However, I felt it didn’t keep up that promise. I know lots of people have really liked this book but I’m afraid that I got really bored with it. It just seemed to drag on and on and it was such a long time before the tension started to pick up. I was very tempted to give up on it but for some reason I stuck with it. I’d like to say I’m glad I did but I’m really not. However I’m sure many people will like it but I won’t be sticking with the series.
