My usual go to genre is fantasy; the mysterious worlds, the magic, weird creatures and just generally an escape from average life. But the world of murder mysteries has been dragging me in over the last year; testing my own skills to see if I can figure out the clues alongside the protagonist or whether it is so artfully crafted that I don’t know who the murderer is either.

Geiger has an interesting title and an intriguing premise. No youngsters killed, no teen protagonist who somehow has the IQ of Sherlock Holmes, but an older cast and a murder 50 years in the making. A murder so long in the making has to have so good reasoning behind it, rather than just loss of control or fighting back. The fact the initial murderer looks to be an old women makes for a refreshing premise and I am extremely intrigued to find out why.
