I was so excited to read this, the blurb alone had me completely hooked and when I saw it said 'For fans of I Am Pilgrim' I was so sure this would be a great book. However, it was somewhat underwhelming. The plot was ok and the characters were reasonably convincing but the writing quality and storytelling was very much lacking. I wasn't really hooked at all and found myself really persevering, particularly through the middle parts. So many Swedish place names were mentioned that seemed to have no relevance other than to confuse me as to who was where. Whilst I'm sure that might work for a Swedish readership it was just confusing for someone unfamiliar with the language and geography. I think that perhaps something was lost in translation here, perhaps it worked better in Swedish. There was some good character development, particularly with Sara, and the pace definitely picked up towards the end. I wouldn't particularly recommend this as there are so many more gripping spy thrillers out there.
