Thanks ReadersFirst for this ARC!
I could easily describe this book in one word: Astonishing!
From ab unassuming start with the family all together to the phone call all seems well from the beginning but this game of cat and mouse starts with various agencies and parties involved in tracking and find the link to what's happening or what will occur later in the story.
This thriller takes you back to the cold War feelings whilst keeping up with this modern day progression.
As the the account develops I’m 350 pages deep and slowly you find out more about each characters past and involvement with each other you start to build up an image of the world they live in.. you just want to keep reading on!
Many sad moments for me personally and very raw and hard hitting with the assaults and the poor girls!
This Debut novel is a genius way to bring to life the emotional state of the period whilst also making you root for different characters.
Using the perspective of several different individuals being in the same scene at different times in the story is fascinating.
This book is a definite must to read!! If you like that kind of thing I must admit I didn’t see the last 30 pages coming!
For a Scandinavian novel I really enjoyed this.
