I won't lie.... I was absolutely gripped from the very beginning! Through the first few pages I was unsure where the storyline would go as, straight off the bat, it was initially sweet. But, after those few pages, what a book! (Though to those looking for an easier read, be wary! The story introduction is long and the interlinking characters/storylines/plots need a whole lot of concentration)
Considering it was a very heavily written political thriller (based around the cold war) I think that the author did an amazing job writing such a brilliant story. I have to note that similarly to books such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo there were things that personally felt as though they were maybe a little lost in translation? For me I think that this causes the what could be such a brilliant story to lose just a little bit of it's could-have-been razor execution.
