Having had the grandchildren to stay and play and do their schoolwork the last thing you would have expected was that after the phone call she received she shot her husband through the head.

This was not what I expected to happen so soon after the novel starts.

This is the first impression I had and was fortunate to win the book because I had decided to read it anyway.

The characters were well formed and the many twists and turns that kept on occurring kept me on my toes. From Childhood friends to adult life the main character Sara was getting far to involved with something that was not her case. She uncovered information that mad her abhorrent of the fathers actions and then found out an unexpected result through her digging.

The final twists were also not expected.

If there is one downside comment I would make is that the book although came to a conclusion, ie told you what happened it left a lot of threads dangling in the air leaving you guessing what might have happened. Perhaps this is the authors way to introduce the next book, if this book is supposed to be part of a series.

A very good start.
