So Different to What I was Expecting

I've marked this book as three stars, but it's definitely more of a 3.5. I couldn't give it four because it took me so long to get used to the writing style and the format of how the plot worked backwards in time. It was very clever, I'll give that to Lockhart, but it just wasn't what I was expecting to read so it took some getting used to. It was great to read about an anti-hero for a change, and I really enjoyed the thrill and adrenalin that came with reading this book. I'd quite like to read this book from back to front just to go through the story again in chronological order. A few people have said that this is a rip-off of The Talented Mr Ripley, but I haven't read that. I would also like to point out that Lockhart acknowledges this book in her author's notes at the back of the book, so it's not a rip-off, she's simply taken inspiration, which I think is perfectly fine. Like I was saying, I did enjoy this book but it wasn't right for me on some levels, as mentioned. If you liked We Were Liars, I think you'll like this, but it's very different so I'd go into this book with an open mind. Also, go into it with a mind that's prepared to read a story backwards and do some serious thinking, because I used up a lot of brainpower on this one.
