Based on the preview, I think this is going to be a book full of suspense. I'm already intrigued as to who all the characters are, what their backgrounds are like (in more detail than the brief snippets already given) and want lies ahead for them.
At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the main character, Jule, she came across as distant, but that quickly changed. I think the characters are going to keep you guessing. Overall though, I think Jule is a bit like Black Widow- and seeing as the author makes a few Marvel references, maybe Black Widow did act as inspiration.
Finally, I liked the writing style. It had enough description even though it was quite fast paced. I also liked the flashbacks and change of third to second person. It felt like it was trying to make the reader more involved.
I'm definitely going to read the rest of this book... I need to know what happens next!
