I love the Marc Dane books and, hot on the heels of 'Exile', 'Ghost' doesn't disappoint. Battling the Combine, in between various plot crisis, shows James Swallow is highly capable of crafting savvy tech thrillers; Dane is a rounded character too, drawn into a world darker than he originally imagined, he's rapidly proving capable of preventing world-ending threats. With a growing cast of friends and villains, there's certainly more books to common the series. If you haven't yet read any of the Dane books, start with 'Nomad' - it's a great read and sets you up nicely for the series. Swallow's writing style can be a little technical at times, but he clearly aims for a little realism; this is needed at times as, with any great spy thriller, we all want a little far-fetchedness!
