A story of three generations of one chaotic family, each generation is given a narrative as the tale progresses. It's a big family and community, one where people know each other and their business.

The biggest hurdle for me reading this book is the pace, it is very slow and lacking focus. There isn't much of a plot here, it labours on in places and isn't very captivating. At times I struggled to continue, picking up the book and not getting through more than a chapter at a time.

The most robust character is the grandparent, one most people could relate to in some way, as she has a hilarious candour. There are some touching moments of real-life modern family, but for the most part it's hard to believe.

I would recommend this to anyone wanting an easy read, particularly for the humour, you can certainly dip in and out without losing who's who.
