This is a fantastic story of different generations in the same family - light-hearted yet serious, funny yet moving. I loved the different perspectives, often I was almost begging them to talk to each other about what they were thinking as they were so close to being on the same page! I love how Hardiman has us completely in love with a character then suddenly completely resenting them! You could definitely use the word 'quirky' to describe this book, particularly Millie and her adventures! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had everything: young love, loss, fear, excitement and resentment. All the things families up and down the country go through everyday. What shone through though was really how much each member of the family loved each other, truly heart-warming but not too cliched! Although it's a longer book this would most certainly be a great summer read.
