A fast paced story that left me breathless at the end.
I have never read any Lynda La Plante books before - neither have I seen any of the Prime Suspect series but after reading this, I shall have to put that right.
This is the third of La Plante's books about Jane Tennison's early life in the police force. Jane is still somewhat naïve and trusting but also honest and forthright in her dealings with friends and colleagues. The book is true to the 1970s when it is set during the height of the IRA terrorist attacks in London and also recreates the macho atmosphere which prevailed in police units at that time.
Shame about all the typos ( I stopped counting when I got to 20). Otherwise would have awarded it 5 stars.
