By the blurb's own admission this is a rom-com novel...I don't do romantic fiction.
I read Uzma Jalaluddin's previous book Ayesha At Last, and found it predictable, but readable...and from the first look I think that this book is more of the same. It was well written, easy to read and the main character, Hana, was likeable. However, I can see plot lines being laid out and can guess where things will go. There are other threads to the story besides romance, like the future of Hana's family restaurant, Hana's job situation, and her podcast, but I have a feeling that the romance bit will prevail...
The strength of the author's writing makes me willing to give it a go though. If it gets too mushy though, I'm bailing.
