This book was was not a book I would usually reach for however reading the sample I thoroughly enjoyed it. Being a south Asian muslim myself I have never perceived myself in any books which is a shame as reading is a hobby I’ve enjoyed ever since I can remember. I’m excited to see where the characters and the plot go I may even learn more about my culture. Hana seems like a funny and all round likeable character. I’m also excited to see where her relationships with her family go ; I’m hoping the book also mentions more on her father (as it seems she has a challenging relationship with him). Moving on from the idea of the characters and the plot the writing style is different as it changes from what seems like online emails or texts messages to first person writing ( from of course the perspective of our main character Hana). I rated the book a 4 star as I only had 30-40 pages to judge it on. I will definitely be checking this book out. Our library’s need a more diverse selection of books.
