This is the second book I have read by this author, Ayesha at Last is a brilliant read, and I am glad to see that Uzma Jalaluddin has stepped up to the mark with this. Hana is a Canadian born and bred Muslim. Her Mother's restaurant in their local neighbourhood is on it's last legs when a flashy competitor swoops in to open a rival halal restaurant. Hana is infuriated and turns to her anonymous podcast to air her woes. She has one consistent follower who she converses with regularly and they share advice on their problems of the day. When her pregnant sister is advised to take bed rest, help for the restaurant is drawn from India in the form of her 18 year old cousin, Rashid. Meanwhile Hana is doing an internship at the local radio station with a hope to getting a permanent job there and pursue her dream job. Several things seem to happen at once causing all her problems to swirl around her and bring things to a head with everyone and everything and Hana finds herself having to make some decisions that will impact her life.
